Engine Options

The Cadillac Escalade series utilizes a high performance version of the Chevrolet 6.0ltr Vortec V8. The engine features high-compression alloy heads and cast iron block.

Earlier models (2003+) of the Escalade produce 345hp and 380ft-lbs of torque which sets itself apart from many locally available vehicles in its class. The power is then run through a heavy duty 4 speed electronically controlled automatic transmission into the All Wheel Drive transfer case.

From 2007 models and on, the Escalade, ESV and EXT use an all-aluminum 6.2 L Vortec V8. The engine includes variable valve timing, a first in a mass-produced non-overhead cam engine which adjusts both intake and exhaust timing between two settings.

The engine produces 403 hp (301 kW) (23 hp more than its sister competitor, the GMC Yukon Denali) and 417 ft pounds foot (565 Nm) of torque. This is paired to a high perfromance six-speed 6L80 automatic transmission.

With engine options like these, the Cadillac certainly packs a punch.
